Toma Cimpeanu

CEO of the National Association for Information Systems Security (ANSSI), Romania

Toma Cimpeanu graduated with Highest Honors both the Faculty of Mathematics and the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, holds a MSc and a PhD in Control Systems, as well as an MBA from a British university.

In the last 20 years, he held top positions in both public and private organizations – State Secretary in the Ministry for Information Society, President of the National Radiocommunications Company (SN Radiocom), Member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Air Transport TAROM and Informatica Feroviara (the IT subsidiary of the National Railway Company – CFR), Development Director of SCOP Computers, eSign (part of VeriSign Trust Network) and TotalSoft.

He was also the Romanian representative and Member of the Board of ENISA, President of the Agency for Information Society Services and Vicepresident of the National „Digital Romania” Center.

He was actively involved in developing eRomania Strategy, the National eProcurement System (e-Licitatie.ro), Ro-Net project, Ghiseul.ro and the Romanian Single Point of Contact.

Toma Cimpeanu was also a lecturer at the University of Craiova and he led the Institute for Management and Sustainable Development, the first and only Romanian organization coordinating an UN/UNPAN global group.

Since 2015, Toma Cimpeanu is the CEO of National Association for Information Systems Security.
